Matawa First Nations Management (MFNM), a non profit corporation serving the needs of nine Matawa First Nations in Ontario, Canada, for more than 30 years, has successfully secured funding for Phase Two of its Rapid Lynx long-haul fiber-optic network project. The grant continues the work MFNM and Magellan, a leader in providing turnkey services for building fiber and broadband networks, that began in 2020 with an initial funding award for the Phase One portion of its project – which is currently underway.

Magellan is assisting Merced County, California, in strengthening its broadband infrastructure to provide enhanced services and solutions to its residents and support future economic development.

Through Magellan’s projects, nearly 250,000 rural and urban Americans will have new access to fiber broadband services.

The network will support minimum synchronous speeds of 1Gbps, with the ability to increase to 10 Gbps or more in the future. In the initial steps, Magellan will provide engineering, funding design and business strategy for deployment of the network.

Magellan is designing an expanded fiber backbone that will meet the City’s growing needs and support broadband across business and residential communities.

Covering over 150,000 premises across six states, these grants will bring fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services to underserved communities across the U.S.

Magellan Advisors (Magellan) has been selected by EMPOWER Broadband, Inc. (EMPOWER) to design and manage construction of its broadband network. The $154 million project will serve Halifax, Mecklenburg, southern Brunswick and southern Charlotte counties in Virginia and will result in broadband service accessibility to more than 14,000 homes and businesses.

Magellan Advisors has been awarded a contract from the City of Kingsville, Texas, to conduct a broadband feasibility study that will include identifying current issues and gaps in service throughout the community.

The Gateway (CA) Cities Council of Governments (GCCOG) has awarded Magellan Advisors a contract to conduct a regional broadband master plan for its Los Angeles County communities. Magellan will inventory existing broadband infrastructure, service availability and adoption to identify and fill gaps in broadband service.
